Swerving Trailers

For any of you who have experienced a swerving trailer! I'm interested in hearing about your harrowing experience with an uncontrolled trailer behind your towing vehicle. We'll try to help you understand why?

Improper weight distribution is probably the most common reason that a trailer does not seem to tow properly. Adequate tongue weight must be present. If the trailer is rear weighted it will tend to lift the towing vehicle, exagerated on rough roads leading to a dangerous swerving trailer. Another cause could be worn out trailer suspension parts causing the axles to wander out of alignment. Any other experiences out there?
